The Arts For Peace Foundation provides therapeutic peace education programmes for children affected by conflict.

John HumeThe Foundation uses the tenets of Therapeutic Recreation to measure the results of the programmes. The programmes are designed to provide trauma relief, increase self esteem, improve communication and faciliate life skills development. Mediation and reconciliation programmes are a core element of the model. The goal of the Foundation is to assist children in recovery so that they may become positively contributing citizens in their communities and young leaders in peace.

Current programmes focus on children in the Irish community and children in Lebanon. The Arts For Peace Foundation has worked with children from Lebanon, Palestine, Israel and Europe since its inaugural residential programme in 2007.
